Update: Latest Government Guidance COVID-19

UPDATE LATEST GOVERNMENT GUIDANCE COVID19

DFE GUIDANCE 19TH MARCH 2020

As a country, we all need to do what we can to reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

That is why the government has given clear guidance on self-isolationhousehold isolation and social distancing.

And the most recent scientific advice on how to further limit the spread of COVID-19 is clear. If children can stay safely at home, they should, to limit the chance of the virus spreading.

That is why the government has asked parents to keep their children at home, wherever possible, and asked schools to remain open only for those children who absolutely need to attend.’

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN TO PARKWOOD FAMILIES?

The government is asking schools to continue to care for a limited number of children who are vulnerable and children whose parents are critical to the COVID19 response. Children with education, health and care plans are included in this vulnerable group. Their guidance also includes 2 key principles that ‘If it is at all possible for children to be at home, then they should be’ and residential special schools…and special settings continue to care for children wherever possible.’

This means we will continue to maintain a service to you as far as practicable in light of our increasing staff shortages. The safety of your child is paramount, so we are reviewing our staff situation daily. If you decide that you wish to keep your child at home, please can you let the school know. This will not affect your child’s attendance record.

We will continue to update you daily via the website and schoolzineapp.

Thank you again for your continued support in these exceptional circumstances.
