Information for Local Authorities:
- Consultation - We ask that the Local Authority provide us with the most up to date the Education Health Care Plan, any supporting documentation and the last 2 Annual Reviews.
If there are Speech and Language, Occupational Therapy,or any other relevant or specific assessments, please include these also. - Consideration and Response - The Senior Leadership Team (SLT) meet once a week and will assess the suitability of the school to meet the individual’s Special Educational Needs and the suitabilityof a placement at Parkwood. The school will write formally to the LA with its views.
- Placement Suitability Evaluation - If in the professional opinion of the school, it is likely that the school can meet the individual’s needs, then we will arrange an observation either at the young persons current setting or home visit, following which we would write a consultation response on our findings as to whether we are a suitable provision or not, this response will be sent directly to the Local Authority. We may either (a) offer a place, (b) offer a place subject to additional resources, or (c) state that we are unable to offer a place, and why.
Information for parents:
Parent Open Events take place 3 times throughout the academic year, these dates can be found on the home page under upcoming events.
