Lockdown Procedure

Lockdown Policy

At Parkwood Hall, the safety of our staff and pupils is our top priority. Our Lockdown Policy outlines procedures to respond effectively to any external or internal incident posing a potential threat. These measures aim to ensure safety while minimising disruption to learning.

What is a Lockdown?

A lockdown is implemented when there are serious security risks to the school premises, such as but not limited to:

  • Nearby chemical spills
  • Dangerous animals in proximity
  • Severe weather conditions
  • Attempted access by unauthorised individuals

What is a Full Lockdown?

  • Activated for immediate threats
  • Requires immediate action, with all external doors locked and no movement in or out of the building.
  • Pupils and staff remain indoors, with all external doors locked.
  • Entry and exit to the site and buildings are restricted.

Drills and Awareness

Pupils will be educated about lockdown procedures through assemblies, social stories, class work and annual drills to ensure preparedness.
